New Dancer Information

Every new dancer and dance parent has to learn a lot in the first couple years, especially if the dancer is competing.  Different members of the Highland Dance Association have great advice and material to share on the way things work and what has helped them.  Until we can get some of that in digital for, please consider the information linked below as part of your learning experience.

What happens at a competition

Placement points at competitions:.

Points for individual placings are awarded as follows:

1st – 88 points

4th – 25 points

2nd – 56 points

5th – 16 points

3rd – 38 points

6th – 10 points

 

Trophies are ususally awarded on the basis of points accumulated in ALL DANCES.  Trophy points are computed to six (6) places.

Medals Testing and Grade Examinations
